Composite Veneers

Composite Veneers

Dental veneers, otherwise known as composite veneers are thin shells of tooth-coloured composite resin that has been custom made to fit over your teeth and ultimately improve their colour, shape and overall appearance.

Composite veneers can correct a wide range of problems when it comes to teeth, some of which include:

  • Gaps between the teeth
  • Poorly shaped/crooked teeth
  • Broken or chipped teeth
  • Permanently externally stained and/or internally stained teeth
  • Unsightly or stained fillings

Generally composite veneers will improve the appearance of your teeth however, they can’t realign your jaw or correct overbites and underbites. Our team of dentists would have to take a look at your teeth to determine your suitability for veneers.

At our dental practice in Glasgow we’ve been providing composite veneers as one of our main treatments for a number of years now. Our team of dentists are all fully qualified to provide this treatment so you can expect to receive a professional treatment at our practice.

When you come to us for this treatment you can expect the treatment to have two stages. The first stage is the preparation stage where we will reshape your tooth so that it’s ready to receive the veneer. A impression of your teeth will be taken at this point so that the mould can be used to fabricate a set of veneers for you, this is important as the idea of the veneer is that once it’s fitted it will look indistinguishable from your natural teeth.

Once the veneers are ready you will be expected to return to our practice in Glasgow where the veneers will be fitted. When it comes to the actual fitting process you can expect one of our dentists to fit your new veneers over your teeth and check the fitting, these will then be removed and your teeth will be cleaned before fixing them in place permanently.

Patients who come to us often think that composite veneers are going to cost them a lot of money. The cost of these veneers can vary depending on the number of teeth that need veneers however, composite veneers are the most affordable veneers that are available; with porcelain veneers being the most expensive of the two types of veneers that are available.
