What is a Fissure Sealent?

Fissure sealants are plastic coatings that are painted on to the grooves of the back teeth. The sealant forms a protective layer that keeps food and bacteria from getting stuck in the tiny grooves in the teeth and causing decay. This is a prevantative measure that can remove the risk of needing a Filling in the future if the teeth are well looked after with good Oral Hygiene practices in the future.

FACT

The enamel on the top surface on your tooth, is the hardest part of your entire body.
