Hi my name is Shonagh and I am very likely to be the person you speak to on the other side of the phone line when you call the practice. I’m also a qualified Dental Nurse, I qualified in 2000 from Langside College. Occasionally you may meet me in the surgery assisting Usman. The best part of my job is dealing with patients and getting to them through their dental journey. I am the Childsmile Nurse at the practice, I try to help mums and dad with diet advice, tips on brushing and helping your wee ones have an enjoyable visit at Merrylee Dental Practice. Recently I have been working towards my Impression Qualification, taking dental impressions for teeth whitening and study models, this brings new challenges to your every day job. I have 3 children and 2 dogs, this keeps me busy outside work. I enjoy spending time with my family & friends and reading my kindle.
Lucy joined the practice in January as a trainee dental nurse. I’m a bit on the old side to be a trainee, but after living in France for 6 years and deciding to come home, I needed a new challenge and something to do with myself. So, having always, maybe a bit weirdly, enjoyed visiting the dentist I decided upon dental nursing. I’ve just sat my final exam and am waiting with baited breath for my results! I love working at Merrylee Dental Practice both meeting and helping treat our patients. When I’m not working, you’re most likely to find me on some exploration mission or other. I love touring (and eating my way) about Scotland with my partner as my sidekick.
